Carbonell Ceramics

Tucked away on a calm pedestrian street in Ruzafa, Carbonell Ceramics is making waves in the Valencian ceramic world. Young and talented artisan Álvaro Carbonell is the third generation of ceramists in his family to continue the Carbonell tradition, adding an edgy twist to a genuinely traditional craft. Walking into the store is a unique experience — beautiful one-off pieces set against an elevated but cosy backdrop, with the artist often at work at the back of the space. Pottery classes are hosted daily, and Álvaro speaks English, so booking a class is easy even if your Spanish is still a work in progress.

CUIT

CUIT is a ceramic studio with two locations in the city — a shop and workshop in Ruzafa, and a coworking studio near the Mercado de Abastos. Beyond selling genuinely lovely handmade tableware (think gradient mugs, hand-thrown bowls, and serving dishes), CUIT runs regular courses for both adults and children, including wheel-throwing and hand-building classes. If you're settling in with kids, they periodically run "CUIT Kids" workshops for ages 8–16 — worth keeping an eye on if you're looking for a creative weekend activity as part of settling your family into life here.

Ruzafa
Misc is a boutique ceramics studio created by artist and illustrator Lola Beltrán, known for tribal and mystical motifs across cups, plates, coasters, and trays. The whole production process happens locally in Spain, using quality raw materials, and the huge glass storefront window means you can see the workshop from the street even before you step inside. Appointments are required, so it's worth emailing ahead if you want to visit or shop in person.

Clay Cave
A shared ceramics studio and coworking space in Ruzafa, Clay Cave offers monthly memberships with open access to pottery wheels, a slab roller, hand-building areas, and kiln firing — a great option if you want to get properly hands-on rather than just browse, and especially popular with expats looking for a low-key way to meet people while settling into the Ruzafa neighbourhood.
