Visit Mercat Central

The Central Market is one of Europe’s biggest and most spectacular art nouveau food markets. Be sure to look up as you enter and marvel at the spectacular ornate domed ceiling!

Mercat Central is absolutely full of hustle and bustle where locals and tourists alike go to do their grocery shopping or simply soak up the atmosphere with its aromas, sounds, colours and tastes. Here you can find everything you could ever possibly want to eat, local fruit and vegetables, fresh fish, baked goods, wine, cold meats as well as international cuisine ingredients and produce.

Make sure you pay a visit to Central Bar one of celebrated Valencian Chef Ricard Camarena’s popular haunts for great tapas. Unfortunately, they don’t take reservations and so try to get there early or, if you do have to queue, it’s definitely worth the wait.

Lastly, Mercado Central recently launched their own app where you can order high quality produce which is seamlessly delivered directly from the stalls to your home, genius!
