Valencia's Best Meat Restaurants — For Real Meat Lovers
For me, this one is personal. I am a serious — and I mean serious — meat lover, and Valencia does not disappoint. Whether you're after a perfectly grilled cut with an exceptional wine list or a theatrical dining experience built entirely around fire and flame, the city has something to make every meat lover very, very happy. Here are my top three:
1. Araguaney ❤️ Encantada Favourite
The name alone is dreamy — just wait until you try the food. Don't be fooled by the outside — Araguaney is a completely no-frills, unfussy looking restaurant that gives absolutely nothing away from the street. But step inside and order the meat, and you'll immediately understand why it has the reputation it does. This is the kind of place that lets the food do all the talking.
The menu is limited, but what it does, it does better than almost anywhere else in Valencia. The meat is hands down some of the finest in the city, served alongside an excellent wine list that is equally impressive.
A little insider secret for you: the owner is famously grumpy and notoriously reluctant to serve extra french fries — but honestly, we find it utterly charming and it only adds to the experience. Don't let it put you off, because the meat alone is worth every penny and then some. It is on the pricier side, but Araguaney is an absolute must for any serious meat lover.

2. Casa Tavella
Slightly out of the city centre but absolutely worth the journey, Casa Tavella is a charming restaurant with exceptionally helpful staff and — you guessed it — outstanding meat. The wine list is superb, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the whole experience feels like a proper occasion. A wonderful place to head for a long, indulgent lunch.

3. Flama 🔥 Michelin Recommended
A newer addition to Valencia's dining scene but already making serious waves — and my personal favourite restaurant in the city centre for both meat and fish. Flama is built entirely around fire, embers and smoke, and chef Eduardo Espejo handles this almost primitive technique with absolute mastery.
The setting is contemporary and striking — the open kitchen is positioned like a theatre stage, and when the last order is served, the chefs literally draw the curtains. Through it you can watch enormous cuts of fish in traditional besugueras and beautiful pieces of meat and vegetables crackling over the embers. It is quite something to watch.
I'll be honest — the décor is stark and the lighting could do with some work, but when the food arrives, none of that matters. The flavours are extraordinary and it is, without question, one of the most exciting restaurants to open in Valencia in recent years. It fills up daily so reservations are strongly recommended.

Three restaurants, three very different experiences — but all united by one thing: exceptional meat. Whether you're a seasoned carnivore or simply looking for a truly memorable meal in Valencia, any one of these will deliver. ¡Buen provecho!
